Hi, I’m Dr. Erin, and I’m so glad you have found Comfort @ Home!
At-home veterinary care has been my passion for the past 14 years of my career, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to focus my practice on pain management, palliative care, hospice care, and in-home euthanasia. These are important yet underserved areas of veterinary medicine.
Growing up in southern Indiana, I knew at a very young age that I would become a veterinarian. There just was no doubt in my mind - it was what I had to do. After volunteering at the local shelter and several local vet clinics, I left home for my eight years at Purdue. My undergraduate degree is in neurobiology & physiology, and then of course I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Boiler up! At the beginning of vet school, I planned to be a mixed-animal practitioner. (That’s a vet who takes care of pets, farm animals, and horses.) However, I soon realized that my true calling was to care for people’s beloved dogs and cats.
I had grown up with rough-coated collies, and the summer before vet school I got my first “adult pet,” my heart cat, Howie. I learned so much from Howie. He turned me from a dog person into a dog AND cat person. He was a stubborn guy who taught me how to provide gentle care for scared, anxious pets. Eventually, he and my second heart kitty Sam, taught me how to provide in-home care for senior pets. Sam eventually gifted me with experiencing in-home euthanasia from the pet owner’s perspective. While extremely heartbreaking, it was also a peaceful experience that I will always cherish.
Currently I have three kitties: Luka, my formerly stray old lady – the smartest cat I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. Zelma, my spunky and beautiful black domestic shorthair. Ronald, a goofy and loving long haired white kitty. Recently I was finally able to have a dog again! My family welcomed our rough coated collie, Lizzy, to our home, and she has been a delight. I should probably also mention that I share my home with humans. My husband Chris is originally from Boone County, and he was the clinic administrator for our mobile practice. We have two terrific sons, Heaton and Colton. They keep us on our toes!

Hi, I'm Leanne! I am a registered veterinary nurse with over 25 years of experience in the veterinary field. I have worked alongside Dr. Erin since 2011. I love in-home veterinary care. Bringing gentle and compassionate care to pets in the comfort of their own home is so rewarding. My love for animals started when I was a child. My mom was very involved in the local humane society and we would often foster many pets throughout the years.
I graduated from Purdue University with a BS degree in Biology. Then went on to receive my degree in Veterinary Technology. At Comfort at Home Veterinary Care, I work alongside Dr. Erin helping cats and dogs improve and maintain a good quality of life and control their pain. I perform Cold Laser Therapy and Massage Therapy. After completing an intensive training program, I am now becoming certified in canine and feline massage.
When I am not seeing our wonderful patients, I love spending time with my family. My husband, Scott, and I have two children. One daughter, Elliott, heading to Ball State this fall and one son, Mason, about to enter high school. We have 3 adorable kitties, River, Hank, and Bruce and one amazing pup, Annie.
